Reason #5: You Are Still Carrying Your Past With You
Whether it be an event that happened during your childhood, or something that occurred during your adolescent years, or a situation that transpired in your early adult life, something happened. It was a traumatic event that is now stopping you from being the best mother you can be to your children.
Your past is determining how you parent but remember, God is there to help guide you along the way to be the parent that your children need you to be for them.
For every action, there’s a reaction.
Where you are in your life, at this present moment, is no surprise to God.
If motherhood is showcasing itself like a storm in your life, God wants to help you get through it. But it will not happen if we keep looking back on a life that we must move on from because it no longer fits our reality.
Keep Moving Forward. You Got This!
If we look back and allow our past to cripple us and keep us stagnant, we will never be able to use it as fuel to propel us forward to a better life.
Just because we are redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ, it does not guarantee us safety from the things that go on in this world.
But it is God’s promise to us that He will never leave us nor forsake us while we are on this journey. Even as mothers.
Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. (1 Peter 5:7).
It is imperative that we at least come to terms with the past. In doing so, we can move on from it and not allow it to hinder who we can be as both an individual and a parent.
We have to keep walking to move forward. If your load is too heavy, put it in God’s hands. He will take care of it. All you have to do is trust and believe that will happen, be ready to listen, and move accordingly.
