Why did I choose The Kinky Stages of Motherhood as my Blog name?
This blog has been in the works for a long time now. The idea came into my mind even before I had my first child. Now I finally have the guts to put it out there.
My original thought was to blog/vlog about my hair. I did not know how to handle and maintain my natural texture. There wasn’t as much information as there is now on the topic. Also, I thought it would be fun.
But, I never made the time to blog. I got so caught up in finding the “perfect” blog name, I paralyzed myself. I did not know how to move forward with anything else. It took years before I went back to it. I wanted to find a moniker that would encompass all that was me. I even prayed about it. But nothing was coming to me that I liked.
It took a while for me to find a name. Then one day, while sitting at my Mother-In-Love’s (MIL) dining room table, it just plopped itself into my brain. I finally had my “ah-hah” moment. It was perfect.
By this point in my life, I was a new mother and newly married.
The Kinky Stages of Motherhood has allowed me to showcase all I hope to be. It has helped me to create a platform to discuss my hair (The Kinky), my life and love for Christ (Stages), the journey of motherhood (of Motherhood), and everything in between.
Catchy, right?
What type of blog is The Kinky Stages of Motherhood?
The Kinky Stages of Motherhood is an inspirational lifestyle blog for you, a stay-at-home mom (SAHM).
Motherhood can prove to be both challenging and rewarding. It can be a challenge finding a balance in taking care of your family, making time for yourself, and living your life for Christ.
Also, you may have a hard time feeling appreciated. You may even question how you got to this point in your life. What does God need you to do at this point in your life?
You no longer recognize the woman in the mirror.
In comes The Kinky Stages of Motherhood!
At times, we need the support of other mothers who are on the same journey as us. It helps us to get back on track. To regain our focus and get our lives back.
We dream about finding mothers who have gone through or are experiencing a life that mirrors our own. It serves to give us some insight into things that matter to us. We want to feel as if we are not alone in all of this.
In doing so, we hope to become better mothers and individuals.
This blog is here to create a community and serve as a guide to help carry you through the struggles you face as a mom.
It is here to help you rediscover the woman you thought was lost forever.
But in actuality, she is not lost. She’s in a cocoon-like state, waiting to blossom into a beautiful butterfly.
Life may have proven itself to be difficult, but with the right tools and with God, you can and will take the reins of life and live out the life that you’ve always imagined for yourself and your family.

Who can be a Kinky Mama?
The short answer is anyone who is a mother can be a Kinky Mama.
You’ve carried or nurtured life in your womb.
A kinky mama can be any mother ready to claim her life back and start living it not just on her terms but living the life that God intended her to have.
She is not afraid to be her authentic natural self.
In the same way, she is a woman who realizes that she is a unique individual with many fascinating layers to reveal.
This woman knows there’s more to this life. She is ready to grow into the phenomenal woman she knows is hidden inside her. She only needs some help getting her out, buried under all of life’s rubbles.
One of her goals is to discover her true purpose. She is ready to throw caution to the wind. She wants to find out how great she really can be if she trusted herself and utilized her talents and abilities. The ones that God already placed inside of her.
She is aware that she is an important person. She realizes that she has a vital role in her family’s life.
This kinky mama realizes that she is deserving of love and respect.
Now that she knows that something is missing from her life, she is ready to learn how to harness her feminine abilities to claim what is rightfully hers.
